DESCRIPTION:Wales Nature Week 5 - 13 July 2025\n\nThe dates of Wales Nature
Week 2025 have been announced!\n\nPlease add the date to your events plan
ning schedule. After trialling different dates over the past few years\, w
e plan to stick to this calendar period\, allowing for annual weekend adju
 stments e.g 4 -12 July 2026.\n\nNo date will be ideal\, and it’s noted t
hat there will be clashes and that there’s a lot of event activity alrea
dy planned in the summer months.\n\nBalanced against this\, there is a big
and growing appetite for nature across multiple areas including events\,
nature exploration at specific sites\, engagement\, and social media parti
cipation. There is also an appetite for Wales-specific content\, and event
s that are local/hyper local and project/site specific nature content incl
uding e-NGO\, LNP and community group activities and projects.\n\nApproach
in 2025\nCelebrating Nature in Wales is a good hook from multiple levels
from the national level to regional\, it works at community and individual
level\, and is able to reflect partner activities and their specific focu
 s. With this in mind\, it’s planned to continue with this broad approach
.\n\nEvaluation feedback\nThank you for your feedback of Wales Nature Week
2024.\n\nKey observations include:\n\n * Share dates for Wales Nature
Week as early as possible\n\n\n\n * Consistency of dates is useful for
planning purposes\n\n\n\n * More publicity and media outreach needed\n\
 n\n\n * Share promotional materials and templates earlier\n\n\n\n *
Scope for creating more digital resources to support Wales Nature Week\n\n
\n\n * Event database needs more structure and configuration to be sear
chable by date and region\n\n\n\n * Utilise the strength of brand Wales
and regional destinations such as the Gwent Levels\, BBNPA\, Eryri etc\n\
n\n\n * Multi partner events (Nature Festivals) worked well\, sharing t
he load in planning\, organising and publicity.\n\n\n\n * Utilise the c
onnection people have to species and species groups such a bats\, moths\,
 dragonflies\, plants\, mammals\, butterflies and birds. Meadows Day (1st S
aturday in July) is also a big event in the calendar.\n\n\n\n * Utilise
the connection to habitats groups such as marine & coastal\, peatland\, m
eadows\, urban\, Celtic Forest and woodland in general. These can be linke
d to destinations - specific places for people to visit and explore nature
and activities such as walking\, cycling and general well-being.\n\n\n\n
  * Welsh language social media posts highlighting common or colourful sp
ecies were consistently popular on social media.\n\n\nTo finish on a few a
bridged quotes received from the evaluation:\n\n“It’s a great opportun
ity to get momentum across the country to celebrate nature”.\n\n“Raisi
ng awareness of Wales being a responsible country with action and awarenes
s of their precious biodiverse assets”\n\n“The partnership bioblitz wo
rked well and we were pleased to have at least 20 people in attendance.”
\n\n“We had a great response to the Nature Festival from the children an
d teachers\; we also had a good response to our messages on social media\,
especially the 'reel' on Dôl Idris meadow with the Warden of the Park\,
Rhys Gwynn.”\n\n“Public engagement with events at bat night”\n\n“H
aving an outdoor activity was very popular”\n\n\nAny questions? Email us
